We're constantly working to make Fraugster better and provide you with the best fraud-catching experience.
Here's a summary of what has changed in the latest Fraugster versions.

We're happy to bring to you several improvements to the Attributes library.
- Improved search
- New tabs to help explore the library in a more efficient way.
- Autocomplete is now available.
- Improved data source for search that gives more relevant results.
- Improved grouping and details
- Meaningful tabs that inform you what items can be used in rule creation right away.
- No more wondering whether an item is available for rule creation! Now you see what data you're sending and what is being calculated as a result.

We've added an article to guide you through various types of hierarchies that could exist for an integration. Depending on your business structure and needs, you may be working with multiple merchants and verticals. It's important to understand how each structure can be supported and built with one API integration. Read more in Merchant hierarchy.
We've released custom actions in rules! From now on, you can define your own custom actions and diversify your business flow following your needs. You can trigger a specific action on your end following a custom action response. Read more on how custom actions work in Custom actions.
Important
You need to update your API integration as soon as you define a custom action to make sure that your application reads from the API response. Read more in Rule hits.

Fraugster now offers simulations for a rule against your entire rule set. Previously you could only simulate rules without any insight on the rule set performance.
Checking how one rule performs against other rules in the rule set gives a better analytical insight and allows you to optimize rule's performance before deploying it to production. The detailed metrics allow you to fine-tune your rules and thus make your rule set cleaner and more concise.
Check the simulation demo
We prepared a demo to show you the new rule simulation in action. Check it out!

- Use to pin the date and merchant filters across all pages of your account where the filters apply. For the merchant filter, the pin becomes visible when you select at least one merchant.
- You can now search for transactions by any data you have available. Apart from the common search by customer name or transaction ID, you may also search by email username, various parts of the billing or shipping address (city, state, street, ZIP code, etc.), phone number, device ID, cart items description. Check the full list in Search variables.
- Fraud Management SaaS users can create rules with the action manual review. Manual review allows you to check transactions manually, identify fraud patterns, and add your review in the system. As of now, manual review decisions become tags. Not only does tagged data help train the AI models - it also can be used in rule simulations and score investigation. Moreover, you can run simulations on tagged data – not only on data that received a status update.
- Tagged data trains ML algorithms. You feed your expert human intel into the AI, and the AI engine learns, links, and scales your intelligence. Tagging already exists in various forms across the Fraugster platform because it's fundamental for machine learning and AI tools. However, by now offering manual tagging to our Fraud Management SaaS users, we enable you to tag data earlier in the data flow. The more tagging you do, the better model performance you get.

- We're renaming our products to be in line with our branding strategy and public image. Meet the new names and the same exceptional products that help you be on top of the fraud game.
- We're introducing a new Fraugster product available as of now: Fraud Decisions as a Service. Meet the new addition to the family in Fraugster products.
- We worked hard on improving the linking section. Filtering has been brought to a whole new level, with smart ways to narrow down the data you're examining. Read more on linking in Transaction details.
- We added a fresh new way to understand your rule logic better. You can now test if the existing rule logic would hit a past transaction you're examining. Moreover, this feature helps you understand why a transaction was hit by a specific rule. Read more in Rule match explanation.
- We added PEP list checking to the Fraugster's anti-money laundering risk management solution. Sanctions checking can now be performed with multiple names in a single transaction.
- We added several new datapoints to the library, including vertical-specific datapoints. The available verticals include hotels, airlines, digital goods, and the buy-now-pay-later business model. Check the library to explore the new content.

- The Transaction page now features Linked transactions section. It helps you identify connections between recent and past transactions. In this section, you see if the transaction you're examining is linked to any past transaction by means of specific attributes or data. Use this insight to create or improve your existing rules and lists.
- You can now create rules that mark transactions for manual review. Previously, marking a transaction as reviewed didn't trigger any action. Now the Fraugster webhook is available. It notifies your application when a transaction has been manually reviewed and given a decision.
- Fraugster offers a clever way to manage device ID fraud. You can either use
your own device ID and send it to Fraugster API in
device_id
, or you can opt in to use Fraugster device ID –device_id_mapped
. If you opt in to use the latter, have a look at a few rule recommendations for this datapoint.

Transaction page improvements
- We're testing a new design of the AI section with a beta feature – radar chart. The chart is a visual explanation of the story and parameters that contributed to the decision and score. We're testing the feature with a group of users, a specific data model and several transaction types. If you see the radar chart on the Transactions page, it means you're participating in the beta – please share your feedback with us!
- Cart items and Custom data and are now visible on the page. If you're sending these datapoints in your API request, you can now view them on the Transaction page.
Read more in Transaction page.
Other improvements
- We added added the merchant name next to the merchant ID in the Merchants filter.
- We added the action Watch to lists, so you can now check the performance of the list before making it active.
- We improved the content of the Rule alerts article.
- We updated the Glossary with a few new terms.
- We added several velocity attributes related to the postnummer (personal customer number for DHL packstations). Check them out in Fraud management → Discover attributes → Velocity.
10 May 2021
We've published the User guide alongside our API documentation. You can now access the User guide from your Fraugster account, as well as at docs.fraugster.com.
